Short descriptions.
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometers east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometers south of the Kenyan border.
The Geotechnical campaign main objectives were to determine the probable sub surface conditions along the TSF embankment, hydraulic permeability, thickness of the strata and position of groundwater table.
Service provided in this assignment included the following:
- Drilling 17 boreholes on the crest and Toe of the Waste Rock Dump
- 34 Trial pits on the Toe of the Embankment.
- Laboratory Testing.
- Permeability (Packers Tests)
- Geological Interpretation and Hydraulic structures analysis
- Preparation of Final Report for lift 9 and lift 10 at North Mara TSF
